10 little confessions.

I was inspired by E this morning so I'm linking up for Midweek Confessions with 10 little confessions.

1. We haven't even been back from winter break for two weeks yet and I'm already in desperate need of another break.

2. I eat fiber one cereal every day, along with a fiber one bar, and sometimes a fiber one brownie. People always comment after just my granola bar that I'm going to have to go to the bathroom and the fiber seriously does nothing to me. I hope this is normal...

3. The worst thing about working out every day is that now I have to shower every day. I am lazy and like to skip a day so I don't have to deal with blow drying and straightening my hair every day but I'm definitely not going to be going to school after working out the night before.

4. I wear leggings every wednesday. My kids I only see Wednesday probably judge me.

5. I am going to Vegas during spring break and looking forward to that trip is keeping me sane.

6.  I am already slacking on my morning Bible reading. I read it super fast and pray so that then I can get on my computer. I don't think that's what I'm supposed to be doing.

7. I am a mod on a Harry Potter message board. I have been for 3 years...except I'm no longer in college and now a 23 year old teacher.

8. I am oddly excited for my birthday.

9. Living with my boyfriend is the best thing ever. We are so lame and like old people who just sit around and watch tv, but after being apart so long I just love being with him.

10. I'm stressed out.

Happy Hump Day!

Midweek Confessions

I'm linking up with E for some lovely midweek confessions!

  • I am really, genuinely, starting to feel overwhelmed with school. I still love my job and it is such a blessing but some days I am just so drained that I want to cry. People weren't lying when they said it was hard.
  • I want new boots, really bad. I find myself wanting to wear them almost daily because they are comfy and I love being able to wear leggings but I only have one pair that I like so I limit myself to once a week. I went shopping this weekend and tried to find some but between my monster calves and my cheap budget it didn't happen. I need to splurge and get nice ones. Any suggestions?
  • I said on Friday that this week I would force myself to go to the gym. Well it's wednesday and all the days I could have gone have passed. Oops. That's what happens when you live at home and your mom tempts you with better things to do after school than go to the gym.
  • I forgot to put mascara on today. I wore a super cute outfit, curled my hair, && as I was driving to school I remembered that I didn't finish my make-up. lovely.
  • I am going back to my college this weekend to go to a football game this weekend and I'm so excited! I don't even care that it's a 5 hour drive after a night of little to no sleep from supervising a lock-in. I get to eat at my favorite places, see some of my best friends, have a fabulous football weekend, and see my boyfriend. <3 Fun weekends are what get me through the week.
Halfway there! Happy Wednesday Hump Day!

Midweek Confesions

Nothing like some confessions to brighten up the middle of the week. I'm linking up with E for some always fabulous Midweek Confessions! These are all school related since school is basically my life. I heard that the first year of teaching is hard but man, it's kicking my butt! Thankfully I have some awesome students and that's what most of these are about. These ones really brighten my days and remind me why I chose this profession. Midweek Confessions...this kids say.

1. Student walks into my class today and loudly proclaimed, "Ms. T... can we PLEASE teach Tyler how to act with his girlfriend. He saw her in the hallway and gave her the most awkward hug like he didn't even know what to do. This really is a life skill, we need to have a lesson on it today." Meanwhile the boy he is talking to tries to make excuses and is clearly embarrassed. Oh, freshman boys.

2. We were talking about when I was in college and how I met my boyfriend. "You were in a band! What was it called? Were you the lead singer?"
...No, I was in the band, like, you know, the marching band? *student laughs* oh...

3. A student asks me about another student who had a crush on me last year. That whole situation was super weird and awkward for me. The kid this year, "I heard you had a boyfriend, are you still in a relationship? Are you ready for it? For the big question?" I walk away embarrassed. Why am I embarrassed about a 15 year old kid asking me about if I'm ready to get married to my boyfriend of 5 years. I think just knowing that they know something so personal about me kinda weirds me out.

4. "Ms. T... what day is it? what day is it?" I say, uh, wednesday? student: "it's hump day!" I want to bust up laughing but I try to pretend that I'm a little more mature that I actually am. If only they knew how much I love that commercial, and that I might have posted about it on my twitter this morning. I seriously can't watch it without cracking up, it's the best commercial in a while.

5. In class today we were talking about the new iOs7 update and this kid was talking about how it is all that is on instagram and facebook today. boy: 'i'm instagram famous you know, look me up, blahblah-insta-name...I have so many followers' immediately a girl goes, 'can i get a shout out?' boy: 'only if you take a picture with me!' ...really kids. instagram famous && you want a shout out? kids these days.

These probably don't sound as funny in writing, but they have brightened my day all week. So thankful for these gems of students. Happy Hump Day! :D

Midweek Confessions

I'm linking up for one of my favorites, Midweek Confessions with E!

1. I wore new flats on Monday and got blisters on both heels that ripped to expose skin before the end of my first period plan. It was painful. Thank goodness I had band aids in my classroom and they did the trick for the day. I swear there are no shoes comfortable enough for a day at school, don't even ask me how people wear heels.

2. My students crack me up every day. Yesterday I had a kid come up to me and ask me my thoughts on the penny, the penny? I haven't thought about that in years and really I'm indifferent to the topic. He informed me that our economy would be better if we got rid of it because more people would buy things for 95 cents. I'm still pondering that thought...

3. I can't seem to get a single printer in my school to work for me. I travel between the copy room, staff lounge, and library during my plan hoping one of them will cooperate and I am yet to figure it out. I spend so much time walking between places that I don't get much planning done at all && that is probably why I have blisters.

4. I look forward to fridays way too much because I can wear jeans and a spirit shirt. three more dayssss.

5. I feel like this doesn't fit as a confession because it's a positive not a negative but I've made it to the gym 4 times in the past 4 days and it makes me feel really good about myself. They made Zumba free at my gym instead of an added cost and I'm so happy to return to it (I did it about 5 years ago in high school).

Happy Hump Day!

It wouldn't be right to let this day pass without acknowledging the date. I lived in New Jersey for most of my childhood so I grew up visiting the city and seeing the world trade centers as I drove down the road on an almost daily basis. I still can't believe they are gone and what a terrible event that was in our country's history. My prayers are will the families who have had to gone on without precious family members since this event. You are not forgotten.

Midweek Confessions || 6

I'm linking up with E @ E, Myself, and I for some midweek confessions!

*My students want to go on an officer retreat for their club and i really, really, really, don't want to go camping. I am not big on the idea of cooking on a campfire, sleeping on the ground, and not showering....while being surrounded by my students for three days. Don't get me wrong, I love them...but can't we just stay in a nice hotel or something?

*Big Brother is my favorite show of the summer. Watching people live in a house and do nothing with their lives? Sounds like a winner. You'd think I'd have something better to do than watch it THREE nights a week and read spoilers online in between.

*I want to put flowers/plants in my classroom but am afraid they will die && it will look bad since I'm the horticulture teacher.

*I'm not the best driver and when I was on the highway the other day I was reaching for my chapstick and swerved really bad into the other lane. Thankfully I was in the middle of nowhere and there probably wasn't another car within a mile so nothing happened. EXCEPT that my car started beeping and yelling at me and a little car with swirly lines came on the dash. I've never seen that before. Lesson learned, chapstick isn't that important.

*I haven't straightened my hair in like 3 weeks and it's the softest it's ever been. I might continue to rock the messy buns just because I feel like my hair is so much healthier and stronger.

Anyways that's all for this week! Happy Wednesday!

Midweek Confessions || 5

Linking up with E this week and loving this cute new button!

1- I am so tech savvy that I don't know how to make the button a link. I'm guessing it's in the html section and an easy little code but for now, I'm clueless. Brownie points for anyone who wants to fill me in so I don't look silly with the image that is just an image and the link in the words.

2- I have been saying that I would clean out my closet sine school got out an I still haven't gotten around to it. There are so many things in there that I haven't even worn in a year, if not longer, yet I can't bring myself to throw them away. It's the endless cycle of, 'well it' kinda cute...maybe i'll need it for something' and the something never comes.

3- Speaking of clothes, I decided today that i'm definitely stuck between being able to wear juniors clothes and women's clothes. You'd think that at 23 it would be easy to find cute clothes but I seriously struggle hardcore. It doesn't help that i'm super cheap and hate spending more than like $10 on a shirt. Even when I plan to go shopping and spend money I struggle to spend the money on clothes for myself. I need a shopping buddy with good fashion sense and who can make me buy things, asap.

4- I have no plans for the 4th of July but I'm having a party on the 6th and am way too excited. I bought all sorts of silly decorations and I can't wait to try out some pintrest recipes. I'll be sure to post pictures of anything that turns out. Usually when I try to have little parties like this they never turn out as fun as I am hoping so I hope that this time it's a little more successful. We shall see!

Have a safe and Happy 4th!

Midweek Confessions || 4

Here are some confessions from this week!

-I took a picture of the sky last night because it was 10pm and still light out. I am clearly easily entertained...I also really like summer.

-My life is already so boring that I go and visit the lady I used to nanny for (who I consider a friend) and her three girls for fun. They are 6, 5, and 4 and absolutely adorable. They completely brighten my day and sometimes hanging out with them is more fun than hanging out with people my own age.

-I can't resist chocolate. If there are cookies, brownies, or any other dessert like items in my house I eat it. I swear I didn't used to be this bad but lately I can't resist them. I have a serious lack self control.

-I am going to my first official teachers conference next week as a school employee! It is on the other side of the state and I am super excited. I hope that I learn a lot and get to make connections with lots of other teachers who can help me through my first year of teaching.

-I told myself I'd work out every day this week and I worked out on monday and then skipped it yesterday. Talk about dedication...not. Good thing I'm heading to the gym in a few minutes for a workout class. I'm desperately seeking motivation.

Have a happy day!

Midweek Confessions || 3 || Reality TV Edition

This weekend and beginning of the week flew by. I promise I'll be back with a post of significance later but for now, my confessions [[linking up with E]].

The confession: I like reality tv, a lot. I'm not sure why but for some reason I just get bored with sitcoms and the typical comedy shows. I'll take Survivor over The Office any day. The amount of non-reality shows I watch I can probably count on one hand (Revenge, Revolution, .... ? ) but if you ask me to list reality shows and I could go on forever. In school last week I was reading the kids an article about how reality tv is changing people's perceptions of life and I thought, am I losing my grasp on reality? Thankfully, I think I can see through the staged drama and antics, but it's still really entertaining!

Lets talk about my favorites...
1. Real Housewives of New Jersey. This is the only 'real housewives' show that I watch and it's because I'm from New Jersey. I love that I recognize some of the places they go and hearing their accents reminds me of my family there. The drama is ridiculous and almost sad since it is actually messing with these people's lives! If you are a viewer, I used to love Teresa but now I can't stand her and I like Melissa. Some of the things that Teresa say completely blow my mind and I think she lives in her own little world. I wish we saw more of Jacqueline on the show because she seems the most genuine to me but that's probably why we don't see her often.

2. The Bachelor/The Bachelorette. So what if they go on the same 'super romantic' dates every season, I still can't stop watching! Even though the matches usually don't work out I enjoy watching all of the issues that happen along the way. I also love following the couples on twitter to watch the downfall of the relationships. I would love for some of the love stories to actually work out but after watching the guy (or girl) tell all those other girls (or guys) how much they love them it's really hard for me to believe they can settle forever on the one that they picked. I'm a huge fan of JP & Ashley, couldn't stand Ben & Courtney, and don't really like Sean & Catherine. Let's see how Des does this season.

3. Dance Moms. These girls are so adorable! They are so talented and their dances never fail to amaze me. The moms are ridiculous but I guess that's the point! The arguments that they have a so repetitive and stupid, 'omg you didn't call me at all last week!' I think that Abby Lee really is a sweet woman but she just puts on an act for the camera. If she really was as mean as they make her look then I don't think all of the girls would love her as much as they clearly do. Chloe is my favorite, followed my Paige.

4. Big Brother! Only a couple more weeks until we get another summer of shenanigans. This is a show that I actually don't feel that bad about watching. It doesn't have much substance, but i'm okay with that. I love seeing the creative competitions and punishments that the producers come up with. It is always cool to see how the alliances form and who is the first to back stab and turn on their friends. Let's hope that we have some entertaining characters this summer.

Honorable mentions:
5. Keeping Up with the Kardashians
6. Survivor
7. Amazing Race

Decisions && Midweek Confessions || 2

I made a big decision today and I feel so good about it. I have been tossing and turning over the options and trying to figure out what was the 'right' decision. I'm still not sure what is exactly right but I know what I feel in my heart and that is what I went with. I also put a lot of prayer into it and I think that helped me to have clarity. Currently I couldn't be happier and am so excited to see what the future holds. :]

Midweek Confessions!

-I was super nervous to join a small group for bible study at church and it was such an amazing decision. In just a couple weeks I already feel so close and connected with this group. I can't believe I was so nervous and waited this long.

-I hate jeans. I immediately put sweat pants on as soon as I get home from school/work. I love being able to be comfortable and always put on sweats so I can sit on the couch with a blanket. If I have to go out again I will complain a lot...then put jeans back on.

-I was going to give myself the day off today (perk of being a sub!) but instead my phone was ringing every 30 minutes this morning and I felt guilty so I got up and took a job. They were obnoxious middle schoolers and I almost regret it.

-I am dying for the sun to come out so I can start sitting in my backyard to tan. I am so white and I don't want to go fake tanning. Please sun, appear!

-I've eaten ice cream in some form every day for the past week. It's my weakness and I don't really feel that bad, but my waistline isn't appreciating it...

Midweek Confessions. || 1

Here is my first attempt at 'Midweek Confessions.' I'm not sure what I have to confess but I'll give it a try. I'm linking up with E, Myself, and I which is one of my favorite blogs.

-Ever since Subway has started their $3 6-inch special I eat there way to often. It is so good and now I can get a combo for only $5-something...way more affordable than the regular $7-something. At least it's healthy...right?

-I am really happy that Kellie Pickler won Dancing with the Stars last night. I am biased and don't like Zendaya because 1. she is a disney channel star and 2. she is already a dancer! That's totally not fair. Plus Kellie is too adorable with her sweet little accent.

-I hate showering. I always have, I'm just confessing this now since it's my first confession. My best motivation to shower is working out because then I have to shower. If my hair is up with a twist or braid, it's probably second day hair which means I haven't showered. beware. :P

- I love shopping but have such a hard time spending money on myself. I found these awesome designer jeans that are labeled as being $88 at an outlet today for $30. I bought them since I have barely any jeans that I like and it was a steal, but now I am having buyers remorse.

-I am so ready for summer. I feel like teachers should be loving every day of school and not looking forward to summer but I can't wait. Maybe it's because I'm subbing and it isn't the same, but still, I'm waiting for you, summer!

-I don't know how to use commas. I like to type how I speak and so I add all these commas when I would pause, and I think it's probably really awkward to someone who is a stickler about punctuation. Sorry! Don't judge me too harshly, I'm college educated, I swear! (<-- prime example)

That's my attempt at confessions! Happy Wednesday!
