Five on Friday: Fall Favorites

I love fall. Since this is officially the first week of fall, here are some of my favorite fall things!

Fall Candles!
I love all of these delicious scents. They are so comforting and make our apartment feel so much more like fall. I need to stock up during the next sale at Bath and Body Works!

Football!
Whether it's Friday night games at school, Saturdays visiting our college, or Sundays watching NFL on the couch, football is a big thing this season. I can watch it for hours and I love the time with my husband enjoying it. We already headed back to college (about 5 hours away) for one game and we are going back for homecoming in October. I can't wait!

Booties!
I finally bought a pair of booties and I am kinda obsessed with them. I always said I could never wear them, well guess what, I guess I can.

Trees!
After moving to the west coast I always felt a little jipped when it came to fall because we have so many evergreens and not the beautiful deciduous trees, but I am starting to find the beauty in it. We have a few deciduous trees and I appreciate them and their beautiful colors even more.

Pumpkin Goodies!
I love pumpkin muffins and cookies which are perfect for fall. I haven't baked any yet, but maybe this weekend I will whip up my first batch. :)

This sums it up!

Have a great weekend everybody!

Wedding Wednesday: Engagement Photos

C and I took our engagement photos last weekend and it was such a blast! I was super nervous the week leading up to them. I haven't been working out or eating healthy so I wasn't feeling very great about myself but thankfully I ended up with outfits that I liked and I was feeling good about myself which is half of the battle.

We went to a local park and I was hoping we would find a lot of fall colors and we didn't, but thats okay. There was still a lot of neat places for backgrounds and fun pictures. We got three sneak peeks yesterday and I immediately sent them to all of my closest friends because I couldn't contain my excitement!

I really enjoyed working with our photographer, she gave great direction but also was open to my ideas for things I saw on pintrest that I just had to try. Some worked, some didn't, but we laughed along the way.

These are just a few of the sneak peeks that she posted and I can't wait to get my gallery later this week.

Next step, save the dates!

Happy Fall!

I have to say this summer was one for the books, talk about so many wonderful things happening! But now that summer is over and fall has arrived (the weather even got the memo) I'm looking forward to it!

Hello, boots! Such an easy go-to for when I need to make an outfit look better. I'm on the hunt for at least one new pair this fall and I hope I find them sooner rather than later!

I'm stealing this idea from Meaghan but I am obsessed with idea of making glitter pumpkins!

We are taking our engagement photos in a couple of weeks and I'm so excited for all of the pretty trees!

There's still plenty of time left in football season so I'll be cheering for my teams. && my fantasy is also doing really well! I'm second in my league and this is the first time I've done it...beginners luck?

I'm not going to lie, I've been feeling a little down and unmotivated for school but this post made me think about some positives of the upcoming months and lifted my spirit a bit. Plus after fall we all knows what's coming...

Fall

This weekend we had a streak of two sunny days in the 70s and this was amazing after a stretch of record breaking rain in my area. I'm not sure if it was the weather or the fact that I had a lot of time to myself but this weekend was a really good one.

On Friday we had a silent auction to raise money for my students and their trip to Nationals. I was basically in charge of it so it was pretty stressful but the night was such a success. All of the people who attended were so generous and it was a really fun event. We made a lot of money for the kids and that makes me so happy.

Since I got my first paycheck this week I told my mom that I wanted to go shopping, so we did! I didn't spend too much but got some more school clothes, including a scarf and dress that I am super excited about. I still need to find some good new boots but those are always a struggle for me. I need to splurge and by expensive ones that will last but I am so cheap! it's a serious issue.

Today I spent most of the day at church, serving, attending service, then at a leaders meeting for kids ministry but in the afternoon I went to a pumpkin patch and corn maze which was a blast. The sunny weather was perfect and the group I was with was a lot of fun.

This evening I even had time to catch up on some quality reality tv that I had on my dvr and relax. It's so nice to have a little time to myself. This week is going to be a lot less busy (I hope) and I get to see my boyfriend this weekend. It should be a good week!

Happy Monday!

College Football

Over the past couple of years my boyfriend has slowly been making me get more && more into sports. I never would have imagined that I would be the one who is eagerly counting down the days until college football but guess what, I am! The countdown is finally down to one with my college team playing their season opener tomorrow. I was in marching band for all four years in college so you could say I'm pretty invested in my team. Sadly the team isn't quite so invested, going 1-11 my freshman year and being pretty dismal in the three following that. Needless to say, even though we lose...a lot, I still love them.

There are so many things to love about football, being surrounded by friends, wearing school colors, the delicious food! It is always a good time. Tomorrow we are getting together with friends to watch the game and I can't wait! Even though I'm not too hopeful for the outcome, it's all about the experience. ((you can tell i've gone to a losing school for way too long :P)) Hopefully I'll be attending my homecoming game in two weeks! We will see if I can afford to party like a college kid for a weekend when I will probably be drowning in lesson plans and papers to grade.

Are any of you avid football fans? What's your favorite thing about football?

Now I know you were all wondering....

GO COUGS!
