Friday Favorites.

Here are some of my favorite things today!

The Fair.
I'll be spending all weekend with my students at the fair and having various friends and family stop by to visit. We already started off winning the market hog show yesterday, let's see if we can win lambs today!

Sunshine.
This is my weather forecast, pure happiness. :)

Best Friend Sleepover.
My fiance is out of town this weekend and so is her husband so we are having a sleepover. I can't wait to do some wedding crafts, hang her gallery wall, and stay up too late chatting. So thankful for an amazing and true best friend.

Verse.
My friend found this website (from pintrest I think) that has bible verses based on names and this was mine. I think it's so great because first, all of the glory should be to God and second, I think it's so important to thank him for all that He does and all that he allows me to do. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed and like I have too much to do but when I think about all God does for me, my burdens that he carries, he deserves all of the glory.

Exercise
I went on a short run last night and it felt amazing! I don't own a scale but I can tell I'm losing weight and today when C hugged me he said I'm getting skinny. I'm so glad to be staying on track even when I'm busy, stressed, and overwhelmed. I don't want to look back and say that I felt fat or ugly for any of my wedding related events, so I'm determined!

Five on Friday: Looking Forward

Spring break is over! :( I'm so sad, but I am going to make this day great and enjoy the weekend. Instead of being negative I am going to think about five things that I'm looking forward to this spring.

One.
My bridal shower!
This is happening in June and I can't wait! My MOH is the best and I know she is planning something wonderful. Also, the mother of my flowers girls was actually my 6th grade teacher and then I was a nanny for her girls and she is almost like a second mother. I know that she wants to spoil me so it is going to be a wonderful time. Plus I will get to see all of my friends and family, I'm so excited!

Two.
Memorial Day with my best friend!

One of my best friends lives in Oregon and is attending graduate school so I am going to spend the long weekend with her while C goes and teaches drum corps. We are planning lots of shopping, a day trip to the beach, and probably seeing a movie. I can't wait to just hang out with her and spend time together.

Three.
State FFA Convention
Myself and my partner teacher will take about 30 students to our FFA State Convention in May. We will be staying in the dorms and the kids will be competing over the span of 4 days. It's high stress, but also high energy and so rewarding. I love watching the kids get excited for FFA and have fun running around a college campus for a week. The lack of sleep and stress is so worth it.

Four.
Celebrating our Anniversary
*us on 5/30/09
C and I will celebrate our last 'dating' anniversary in May. 6 years and going strong. I think the date will always be significant to use even after we get married. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Five.
The Last Day of School!
I feel like a terrible teacher saying this, but the last day of school is going to be a GREAT day. I love my kids and I love teaching but I have so much to look forward to this summer that I'm so ready for it to be here.

Happy Friday, Linking up!

Five on Friday: Spring Break Edition

Happy Friday! In 8 sweet hours I will be on spring break. I cannot wait! This spring has been so crazy, a break is much needed, for me and my students. Here are five things I'm looking forward to doing this break.

One.
Reading!
My best friend started a book club (thanks for the inspiration Erika) and we picked the first book. I am planning on reading that this week as well as another Liane Moriarty book. I've read two in the past month and I'm hooked.

Two.
Getting School Work Done!
I am working on my masters and I want to be done with the first two tasks by the end of break. Then when I go back to school I have to implement my research and then just write it all up!

Three.
Feel Confident About my Venue!
My mom and I are going to visit my venue again because they got a new wedding coordinator without telling us...not cool! I want to make sure my vision will still happen and see it all again. I have so many ideas in my mind and questions to ask, I really hope it's a productive and successful meeting.

Four.
Get Crafty!

I am planning on glittering 72 votive holders and 15 table numbers. That's a lot of glitter! Thankfully my best friend is also on spring break and we can do it together, preferably while watching wedding shows on TLC.

Five.
Work Out!
I have two months until my dress fitting and I am determined to feel confident and happy with my body at that time. I don't have a ton to do but I definitely need to tone up and lose a few pounds. I should be able to work out every day of break, no excuses since I don't have work!

If you're a teacher, what are you doing this spring break? If not, what do you wish you could do?

Happy Friday! Linking up.

Five on Friday:

I am trying really hard to not spend money since I'm trying to save for a wedding and honeymoon this summer. I tried to not spend money this month but since today is payday and my birthday is coming up, here are five things I wish I could buy...or receive this month.

Yoga Pants
The compression capris from Old Navy are my fav!

Bathing Suit

I want a simple white top to wear with two new bottoms I got on clearance in the fall.

Tennis Shoes

Dress Pants
As I start to lose weight my dress pants don't fit well anymore and i find myself wearing jeans to school more often. Just because the year is (slowly) ending I don't want to slack off in looking professional.

A Vacation

I would love some sunshine and time off right now. I'm not sure what it is about this time of the year but even with 3 day weekends and Christmas break just a month ago I am really dragging. I'm dreaming of Disney.

five on friday: christmas decor

Now that December is here I feel like I can share my Christmas decor. Here are my five of my favorite Christmas things in our apartment:

Advent Calendars

I love counting down each day and enjoying a little hershey's kiss!

The Mantle

I spent a lot of time looking for everything and getting it arranged just how I wanted it. We are still missing stockings because the last set I bought my fiance didn't like but I plan on getting some this weekend to make it look more complete.

Our baby tree

I didn't want a huge tree since we live in an apartment and this little guy was on sale a Michaels and I couldn't pass it up. I even put the presents we are bringing to my parents under it so that it looks better.

Santa's Sleigh
This was an item in our silent auction fundraiser I hosted for school and my mom bought it for me. I think the reindeer are just too cute and I also like the holiday flowers in the sleight.

Angels

My mom gifted me the Willow Tree angel last year and I bought the other angel this year. I think it might be the start of a Christmas collection.
