Weekending: Winter Break is here!

We have reached winter break, can I get a hallelujah?

Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating and while we were supposed to travel to my in-laws on Friday after school, we had to wait until Saturday morning because the mountain pass was closed. It opened on Saturday, but the roads were super snowy and it was a terrifying drive. Thankfully we made it here safely.

I did some last minute shopping with my sister in law and picked up a few stocking stuffers for C. I am trying really hard to make our first married Christmas a memorable one and I think it's going to be great.

Today we are celebrating with his family and exchanging gifts. I love all of the things that we got them and I can't wait to see them open them all. It's been a relaxing few days here with his family, but I'm excited to go home to our apartment and enjoy the last day before Christmas! We have a full Christmas Eve and Christmas day, so I am excited for the festivities to begin!

Weekending: Black Friday & Holiday Decor!

We had a great holiday weekend! We went to my in-laws for Thanksgiving and had a relaxing day and delicious dinner. Thanksgiving night I went out with my sister in law for some Black Friday shopping and I got everything on my list! I was so happy with all of the great deals that I got and all of the gifts I was able to buy.

Friday was the Apple Cup, our huge rivalry football game. We went to a restaurant to watch it with some of our friends from college who live in my husbands home town. Our quarterback was injured at the last game so our back-up stared and it was ugly. Probably the worst game of the season which totally ruined the day. Such a disappointment. Thank goodness we have a bowl game to look forward to.

Saturday we drove back home and went to my mom's to visit with my brother who is home from grad school, have dinner with the family, and decorate my mom's house for Christmas. Even since we moved out we try to come together to decorate with my mom and keep the tradition alive so I was glad that we were able to again this year.

Sunday after church we came home and set up our Christmas decorations! We still have a ways to go, but I am most excited about our new nativity.

Weekending: Solo & Sick

My husband was out of town this weekend so that meant time for me to rest and try to sick this sickness I have had all week. After school on Friday I had to move the piglets from our school barn to the student farm and get them all settled there.

I was home by 5pm and I showered and curled up on the couch which is where I spent the evening. I watched Hunger Games and was planning future vacations. I check prices and plan our vacations in my head way too often. Our next trip will be Vegas for 4 days over spring break and I can't wait. I'm ready to book it so that I can stop obsessing over hotels and plane tickets. Then I'll just focus on the fun stuff, like what we should do when we get there.

Saturday morning I woke up, still sick, but not sick enough to stop me from shopping. My best friend and I hit the mall and I got some great Christmas presents. I mostly bought things for my hubby, but also got a sweater for my aunt and a photo album for my in-laws. Then I came home and wrapped all of the Christmas presents we have so far. There's actually quite a few! I still have a list of things I want to buy, but I am very happy with my progress so far.

Sunday morning I went to church and then I went to my mom's house. We were off for some more Christmas shopping! I love hanging out with my mom and shopping is our favorite thing to do together. I got a few more gifts and we got our Christmas PJ's.

I came home and relaxed the rest of the evening. Did my husband's laundry and cleaned up a little bit. It's a short week (thank goodness), but we are going out of town for Thanksgiving so I want everything to be put together so we don't have to come home to a mess. Here's to hoping this is an easier week.

Weekending:

I love weekends, I seriously can't get enough of them. I wish they were longer and more often, but I guess I just need to be thankful for what we get.

Friday when I got home from school and was looking at my twitter I saw #PrayforParis and that sums up that afternoon. It is absolutely heartbreaking and terrifying to read and hear about these attacks.

Friday night we had our state playoff game for football and it was a hard fought battle but sadly our  team lost. I felt bad for them and the fact that after working so hard all year the season is over just like that. They have a lot to be proud of though.

Saturday morning I had to go pick up pigs! The life of an agriculture teacher. :) I didn't get any picures of them because my phone died by they are adorable. I'll take some tomorrow to share. Our students get to raise them and show them at the fair in the spring. It's such a cool experience, I wish I had that opportunity when I was a high schooler.

Saturday night we had a big football game, WSU vs. UCLA. We invited some friends over to watch the game and it was a lot of fun. We won in the last few seconds and it was epic. Not only are we bowl eligible but we have won SEVEN games. This might not sound like a lot for most of you, but this is a team that was 1-11 my freshman year and I think won a total of 4 conference games in my entire college career. We are finally going places.

Sunday morning C was drumming with the worship band at church so he had to get their early so I went to Starbucks to do some prep for my small group. After church my mom and I went Christmas shopping! It snowed up in the mountains and was so pretty. It really got me in the mood for the holidays.

In the afternoon my hubby bought my a new iPhone! I've been begging and complaining for months (I had a 4S for 3 1/2 years!) and I love my new phone. It's amazing.

The picture quality is one of my favorite things. Plus it's bigger, faster, and just overall beautiful.

I took a sick day today because I have to get a root canal, joy. :( I'll be spending my afternoon on the couch watching lots of tv.

Weekending: Lack of Sleep

This weekend was crazy and I have very little pictures to prove it.

Friday night we had an auction for FFA to raise money for our students going to Nationals. We are taking 13 students this year and this year's auction was a hueg success. We raised enough money to cover the rest of the trip (flights, hotel, registration, rental car) for all of them! We made over double what we did last year. As I was counting the money I could not stop smiling. The parents and booster group have worked so hard to put this auction together and all of that work was totally worth it.

After the auction ended, we got in the car and drove 3 hours to Eastern Washington to where my husband is from. We arrived around 2am. Thankfully one of his friends came with us and they stayed up and chatted while I crashed in the backseat. I didn't sleep much, but I didn't have to feel guilty after not walking to talk the whole way. I was drained.

We spend Saturday at a marching band competition. There were a ton of great groups, saw a lot of C's friends, it was a fun time. We were in the stadium or walking around with groups warming up from 10am - 10:30pm. It was a marathon day.

We drove home pretty early on Sunday which was great so then I could clean up the apartment, do laundry, and relax on the couch. I needed a restful afternoon after the busy weekend.

I don't have too many meetings this week so I am really excited, we also don't have school on friday. Woo!

Weekending: See ya, September!

Can anyone believe it was the last weekend of September? Holy moly, this year is flying!

Friday night I took some FFA students to a leadership camp. I was in charge of the group who was running it so it was a little stressful but it went really well. All of the students (about 60) seemed to have a great time and I had some quality time with the advisors. Sleeping in a cold cabin isn't my favorite, but we woke up to a beautiful sunny day so that was lovely.

That afternoon I went to a marching band competition with C. His group did awesome and he was super happy. I love music and marching band, so it was a lot of fun being at the competition. The first of many this year, you'll be seeing a common theme for my Saturdays until November.

Sunday we went to the horse races with my mom and her boyfriend. It was a lot of fun and we all won! I left with like $30 more than I went with and my brothers girlfriend won $50 on a 10 cent bet, it was super exciting. We usually go a few times each year but this summer with the wedding we were so busy that we only went once. It was nice to go one more time before the season ends.

This week isn't too busy so I am looking forward to it. I need to start running because I'm supposed to be doing a 5k at the end of October. Let's see if I can find the motivation.

Weekending: Family and Friends

What a weekend! The main event was my bridal shower which will get it's own post on Wednesday, but here's how it went!

Friday afternoon I had a second hair trial. The lady originally scheduled to do my hair called and said that she had a family emergency (in two months?!...) and can't do my hair. Another stylist was taking it all over, same price, same everything, but I need to come do a trial with her. So I do, and I hated my hair. It was the same-ish look, but so wrong. Now I have to go AGAIN and hope that she figures it out...less than two months before my wedding. It's a little stressful.

Friday evening C and I went running. We've been doing a good job going out to at least walk or run a few miles each night. It feels so good and I really feel my body changing. I'm going to force him to keep going, he always likes it when he does and he really motivates me because he can run farther and faster than me.

Saturday we went to the horse races with some of our bridal party. I wanted it to be more of a thing to get everyone together but we have people who work full time and their jobs are on weekends, people hours away, and my MOH getting everything ready for the shower, so having everyone didn't happen but we still had a great day with who we had.

Sunday was my shower! I am saving all of the details for my post on Wednesday, but it was absolutely amazing. Seriously a dream. I am one happy, spoiled, loved, girl. :)

It's my last week of school until summer vacation! Woot Woot! We finish on Wednesday and I CANNOT wait. I love my job, but I need a break! :)

Weekending: Sunshine & Soccer

I had a fabulous weekend! We didn't have too many plans which always makes it that much better since I actually have time to relax. Here's what we did!

Friday night was our FFA end of the year banquet. The kids did an awesome job recognizing everyone for their accomplishments this year. They also announced the officer team for next year and it is a great group, I am excited to see what this next year brings for our chapter.

Saturday morning C and I went to help my mom with yard work. Her and her boyfriend have been spending the last few weekends completely transforming the backyard at her (my childhood) house for our rehearsal dinner. It looks AMAZING. We went and helped them move bark which was the final step. I am praying for a sunny day so that they get to show off their hard work. I will be so devastated if it is rainy but I can't even start thinking/stressing about that.

I spent the rest of Saturday finishing and stuffing my invitations. They are going in the mail today!

Sunday C and I went up to Seattle for Sounders Game. This was my first professional soccer game and it was a lot of fun. My cousin lives in a building near the stadium and we went up there to BBQ and hang out before the game. It was a great day, perfect weather, and they won!

Back to school tomorrow. Only two more full weeks! I'm so ready for summer.

Weekending: Commencement

This weekend was so much fun. It's always fun to be celebrated and honored, but the people in my life truly went above and beyond to make this weekend special for me. I don't think I really processed that it is an accomplishment to earn your Masters (or any degree) and every time someone said 'Congratulations' it caught me a little off guard because I just felt like I was doing what I was supposed to be doing. Either way, it was fun to be celebrated and I had a really awesome weekend.

The graduates had to get to the arena early to prepare for the ceremony so while I was bored I took some pictures of my regalia. Another tassel to add to my collection!

At one point they told us to all take out our phones and take a graduation selfie. This was mine! :)

I had a graduation party that night at my apartment and a bunch of my friends came over. One of the things I miss most about college is having a ton of people around all of the time, it was a fabulous night.

On Sunday morning we had a graduation brunch at my mom's house. She made so much delicious food, had the cutest decorations, and we got to enjoy the beautiful weather on the deck. It was a perfect morning and continued celebration. My brother and his girlfriend came, plus my other brother was home from college with his girlfriend, so it was a full house. That rarely happens anymore so it was great to all be together.

By the end of the weekend I had quite the collection of flowers. I may teach horticulture, but I'm not the best at keeping flowers alive. I spread them out around my apartment so here's to hoping they last at least a few days.

I'm feeling recharged and ready for this week, let's hope it's another good one. I think there's only 6 weeks left of school...but who's counting. :P

Weekending: Fair Week!

Friday
We went up to Seattle to celebrate one of my best friends/college roommate/bridesmaid's birthday! We went to this place called Rock Box which is where you rent private rooms for karaoke. You have your own server who comes in to bring you drinks and you pick all of your songs and have big comfy couches. I wasn't sure about it, but it was a blast! It also helps that she has wonderful friends and we had a great time.

Saturday
In the morning C and I went for a nice long walk and had a relaxing slow morning. Then we went down to the jewelry store where my brother works to order my wedding band! I am obsessed with it, it's so beautiful and I can't wait to be able to wear it.

I did some shopping for my best friend because it's her birthday next week. I'm stealing my wedding theme and making her birthday theme 'best day ever' and getting her things that will make her have a really good day. I'll post about it when it all comes together.

Sunday
We went to church and grocery shopping which are the two typical Sunday activities. We also went down to my school for a little big because the kids were getting their animals ready for the fair. I'm not the teacher who does much with animals with our FFA kids but I like to be around and try to help where I can. I'll be a the fair Wednesday - Sunday with them, it's super crazy and exhausting but it will be fun.

C and I tried out a new restaurant for dinner and it was delicious. It is right down the street from our apartment and I always thought it was fancy and expensive but on Sunday they have all day Happy Hour and it was affordable and delicious! I had sliders and fries, definitely not on my diet. It was the only time I cheated this week though so I was pretty proud of myself.

Three days of work and then the Spring Fair! So thankful for a short week and a fun end of the week.

Weekending: Easter Weekend

Another weekend is complete! It's bittersweet because it means I'm back to school tomorrow. I'm not ready, but I know it's going to be a fun and fast spring.

Friday
I couldn't believe it was already the last day of spring break. Yes, we had the weekend but the last extra day off. I was so sad, the week went far too quickly. I spent the day finishing up some errands from the week and went to school to work on a few things before going back next week. We went to a trout egg hatchery for two students' research projects, interesting stuff!

We went to Good Friday Service in the evening and it was amazing. One thing that I love about my church is these extra services because I feel as though they go above and beyond. The music was beautiful, the message was powerful, and it really had be centered on Jesus and what he did for me. He died for me and my sins, so that I may live. There is no greater love.

Saturday
I got up and went to ZUMBA in the morning and then C and I had a lazy day. We went grocery shopping and I meal planned for the week. I spent a few hours watching NCAA Gymnastics and laying on the couch. It was a perfect, relaxing day.

In the evening some of our friends came over and we went out for dinner. We went to a local italian restaurant. They have wood-fired pizza, so good!

We went back to our apartment and played CLUE! I was so excited to play this game because I used to play it a ton when I was younger. We learned that we are not good at following the rules and someone almost always forgot to show a card when they were supposed to so none of the games ended without controversy. We will have to play again and hopefully people will be a little better and it will be more fun.

Sunday
We went to church on Sunday morning and it was amazing. A message of hope, thank you Jesus.

We visited my grandad after church and then relaxed at home. My mom and her boyfriend came over for Easter dinner and we hung out. It was a great end to the weekend.

Weekending: Spring Break is here!

Friday night I went to Buffalo Wild Wings with my best friend and fiance for some drinks and dinner before we went to see Insurgent. I really liked it! I read the book a long time ago so I didn't remember it exactly so I didn't have any of the negative feelings that sometimes happen when a movie doesn't follow the book exactly. It was mostly what I remembered and I thought it was an overall good movie!

Saturday morning I spend the first few hours of my day watching gymnastics. I'm a huge gymnastics fan and the National Team was competing in Italy. It was the first time two of the girls from the 2012 Olympic team were competing so it was great to be able to see them. USA dominated and my favorites got 1st and 3rd!

Saturday afternoon we went to a color guard competition to meet up with some of my fiance's friends. He teaches drumline and drum corps so he knows a ton of people in that world. There were some awesome performances.

One of my cousins moved to Seattle a couple of years ago and I haven't been able to make it up there to see her so me and C went up and had dinner with them on Saturday night. They live in this awesome apartment with a rooftop area with tons of tables, a fire, grills, and the best views of the city. We had some delicious food and were able to catch up and enjoy the evening outside. We are going to make sure we do that more often.

sorry it's so blurry, I'm back in the old ages with an iphone 4s. but it's the seattle skyline with the space needle and big wheel!

Sunday we went to church and then just lounged around. It felt so good knowing that I didn't have to be all stressed about school this week. This break is going to be so good.
