This weekend my boyfriend went out of town and it was interesting to have an entire weekend to myself. I love spending my weekends with him but it gave me the chance to do a bunch of other stuff that I have been wanting to get done.
I am working on a basket for my best friend's bachelorette party so I spent a bunch of time shopping for that. I will post a picture when it's finished (the party isn't until april) but I found a super cute basket with burlap to match her theme. I started filling it with ring pops, Tylenol, hand sanitizer, gum, mints, cute cocktail napkins, and i'm going to add some plane snacks and other goodies as we get closer. She is my first close friend to get married and since I'm the maid of honor it's even more excited. It's definitely giving me wedding fever...but let's not get started on that.
I also spent a lot of time at the gym this weekend. I hope everyone is keeping up with their fitness goals! I've found that having friends in real life who are also trying to lose weight is super motivational to me. I'm competitive so in my mind I think....I better lose more weight that *insertnamehere* and it makes me stay on track. I highly recommend that method if you are a competitive person and need motivation.
I got to catch up on all my shows this weekend as well which was fabulous. Right now the shoes I'm into are The Bachelor (you'll see more of that tomorrow), The Biggest Loser, Sister Wives, and Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Listing those shows makes me sound like a terrible person, but I"m a sucker for reality tv.
My alone time is great, but I'm so excited for my boyfriend to come back tomorrow. I miss him. So thankful that we don't live 4 hours apart anymore.

alarm malfunction.
It's just my luck that when I am writing about how great my morning quiet time is, the next morning my alarm doesn't go off. I am supposed to be at school at 7:05 for team meetings on wednesday and when I rolled over and looked at my phone what time was it? 7:05. not a fun thing to wake up to. Thank goodness it was a Wednesday so the students have late start and we have PLC time, but still not that fun.
I wanted to report that my new years resolution of getting healthy has been great so far! I just finished my 7th workout in 7 days. Usually I go to classes at the gym but twice when I didn't have a lot of time I just went to the exercise room at our apartment complex and used the treadmill. My meals and calorie counting have also been right on target. I know it's only 7 days, but I'm proud of myself. I hope that anyone else out there working on getting healthy is having success as well. If you ever want to chat about it I'm always up for talking about working out, diets, etc. It motivates me to talk to other people doing the same thing.
Time to do my Beth Moore reading and head to bed, lets hope my alarm doesn't malfunction again tomorrow morning, I will have to set extra ones just in case.

craziness.
Sorry for my lack of posting in this blog, this year has truly kicked it into high year and I feel like I barely have a moment to breathe.
School is still great, for the most part I still love teaching and the joy that it brings me every day. Yes, there are times when my students don't cooperate, or when they ask the same question 10 times since they didn't listen to directions, or when my lesson is a total flop, but I am trying to accept that this is okay, People kept telling me that the first year would be hard, and it is. I think the hardest thing is having so little free time. I am worried about what that will be like when my boyfriend moves here and I want to spend time with him but I'm hoping that I will be better at managing my time by then. I am convinced that I could literally spend every free moment doing school stuff and I still wouldn't feel like I am ahead.
I haven't worked out in at least three weeks. It makes me sad because I miss it and miss how good it makes me feel. It's all my own excuses but between meetings, other commitments, being sick, and being exhausted, it just isn't happening for me right now. I hope that I can change that soon.
I have been going out of town almost every other weekend to see my boyfriend and that makes planning hard but it makes me so happy. I am so thankful that we have been able to see each other so much and when he finally moves here I will be one happy girl.
We had homecoming at our school this week and it is a big deal around here. I dressed up for all of the spirit days and went to the football game last night, it was a blast. I am heading out to chaperone the dance in about two hours. That is sure to be an experience.
Overall life is good. Crazy, stressful, hectic, but good. <3

Midweek Confessions
I'm linking up with E for some lovely midweek confessions!
- I am really, genuinely, starting to feel overwhelmed with school. I still love my job and it is such a blessing but some days I am just so drained that I want to cry. People weren't lying when they said it was hard.
- I want new boots, really bad. I find myself wanting to wear them almost daily because they are comfy and I love being able to wear leggings but I only have one pair that I like so I limit myself to once a week. I went shopping this weekend and tried to find some but between my monster calves and my cheap budget it didn't happen. I need to splurge and get nice ones. Any suggestions?
- I said on Friday that this week I would force myself to go to the gym. Well it's wednesday and all the days I could have gone have passed. Oops. That's what happens when you live at home and your mom tempts you with better things to do after school than go to the gym.
- I forgot to put mascara on today. I wore a super cute outfit, curled my hair, && as I was driving to school I remembered that I didn't finish my make-up. lovely.
- I am going back to my college this weekend to go to a football game this weekend and I'm so excited! I don't even care that it's a 5 hour drive after a night of little to no sleep from supervising a lock-in. I get to eat at my favorite places, see some of my best friends, have a fabulous football weekend, and see my boyfriend. <3 Fun weekends are what get me through the week.
Halfway there! Happy Wednesday Hump Day!

Five on Friday.
I'm linking up with to share five things that happened for me this week! I apologize in advance that they are basically all related to school but it pretty much consumes my life.
1. This week was the first time I felt so overwhelmed that I literally wanted to cry. We were sitting at a training for this insane evaluation system we have to use and I was just so stressed out. I try to always be the happy teacher and put a smile on my face but that day it was hard to even make it through the day.
2. The earliest I was home from school this week was 7pm. Considering the fact that I go to bed by 10 this does not leave me enough 'me' time and I think contributed to the feelings above. I really need to work on balance in my life.
3. We had a 'secret staff dress up week' this week which meant casual outfits every day. It was glorious. I love dressing up but jeans sure felt great.
4. I didn't make it to the gym once this week...and I ate like crap. I'm not feeling to good about it. I am forcing myself to the gym next week.
5. I got my first real paycheck and it was glorious! Since I've never had a 'real' job before the check felt massive. My mom and I are going shopping this weekend and I can't wait to buy some new clothes. I am also booking a hotel and flight to vegas for my best friend's bachelorette party. Woo!
Happy Friday!

Midweek Confessions
I'm linking up for one of my favorites, Midweek Confessions with E!
1. I wore new flats on Monday and got blisters on both heels that ripped to expose skin before the end of my first period plan. It was painful. Thank goodness I had band aids in my classroom and they did the trick for the day. I swear there are no shoes comfortable enough for a day at school, don't even ask me how people wear heels.
2. My students crack me up every day. Yesterday I had a kid come up to me and ask me my thoughts on the penny, the penny? I haven't thought about that in years and really I'm indifferent to the topic. He informed me that our economy would be better if we got rid of it because more people would buy things for 95 cents. I'm still pondering that thought...
3. I can't seem to get a single printer in my school to work for me. I travel between the copy room, staff lounge, and library during my plan hoping one of them will cooperate and I am yet to figure it out. I spend so much time walking between places that I don't get much planning done at all && that is probably why I have blisters.
4. I look forward to fridays way too much because I can wear jeans and a spirit shirt. three more dayssss.
5. I feel like this doesn't fit as a confession because it's a positive not a negative but I've made it to the gym 4 times in the past 4 days and it makes me feel really good about myself. They made Zumba free at my gym instead of an added cost and I'm so happy to return to it (I did it about 5 years ago in high school).
Happy Hump Day!
It wouldn't be right to let this day pass without acknowledging the date. I lived in New Jersey for most of my childhood so I grew up visiting the city and seeing the world trade centers as I drove down the road on an almost daily basis. I still can't believe they are gone and what a terrible event that was in our country's history. My prayers are will the families who have had to gone on without precious family members since this event. You are not forgotten.

Friday Letters || 2
Dear R.I.P.P.E.D, You are the most fun I have had working out in a long time. I enjoy that the class mixes things up and keeps it interesting but why did we have to do like triple the amount of abs today? My legs are already burning, I can't wait, and now I can barely move my stomach. Maybe I'll be thanking you in a few months but right now I'm dying.
Dear Students, I love it when you say 'have a great day' back to me after I tell it to you. I think it's so sweet, especially since I'm a substitute and nobody really likes subs anyways.
Dear Bride-to-be Best Friend, I am beyond excited to go wedding dress shopping tomorrow! I know that you are going to be stunning and I am so thankful to be part of this experience.
Dear Memorial Day Weekend, Please take pity on us and give us some sunshine. I know that we aren't normally given much of it but it would make the weekend so much more enjoyable. There are some fun outside things that I'd love to partake it.
Dear Soldiers who are the reason we have memorial day, Thank you. There aren't enough words to thank you for your service. Thank you to your families, your friends, and for being brave enough to make the decision to lay down your life for our country. God Bless America.
