Weekending: Spring Break is here!

Friday night I went to Buffalo Wild Wings with my best friend and fiance for some drinks and dinner before we went to see Insurgent. I really liked it! I read the book a long time ago so I didn't remember it exactly so I didn't have any of the negative feelings that sometimes happen when a movie doesn't follow the book exactly. It was mostly what I remembered and I thought it was an overall good movie!

Saturday morning I spend the first few hours of my day watching gymnastics. I'm a huge gymnastics fan and the National Team was competing in Italy. It was the first time two of the girls from the 2012 Olympic team were competing so it was great to be able to see them. USA dominated and my favorites got 1st and 3rd!

Saturday afternoon we went to a color guard competition to meet up with some of my fiance's friends. He teaches drumline and drum corps so he knows a ton of people in that world. There were some awesome performances.

One of my cousins moved to Seattle a couple of years ago and I haven't been able to make it up there to see her so me and C went up and had dinner with them on Saturday night. They live in this awesome apartment with a rooftop area with tons of tables, a fire, grills, and the best views of the city. We had some delicious food and were able to catch up and enjoy the evening outside. We are going to make sure we do that more often.

sorry it's so blurry, I'm back in the old ages with an iphone 4s. but it's the seattle skyline with the space needle and big wheel!

Sunday we went to church and then just lounged around. It felt so good knowing that I didn't have to be all stressed about school this week. This break is going to be so good.

Five on Friday: Spring Break Edition

Happy Friday! In 8 sweet hours I will be on spring break. I cannot wait! This spring has been so crazy, a break is much needed, for me and my students. Here are five things I'm looking forward to doing this break.

One.
Reading!
My best friend started a book club (thanks for the inspiration Erika) and we picked the first book. I am planning on reading that this week as well as another Liane Moriarty book. I've read two in the past month and I'm hooked.

Two.
Getting School Work Done!
I am working on my masters and I want to be done with the first two tasks by the end of break. Then when I go back to school I have to implement my research and then just write it all up!

Three.
Feel Confident About my Venue!
My mom and I are going to visit my venue again because they got a new wedding coordinator without telling us...not cool! I want to make sure my vision will still happen and see it all again. I have so many ideas in my mind and questions to ask, I really hope it's a productive and successful meeting.

Four.
Get Crafty!

I am planning on glittering 72 votive holders and 15 table numbers. That's a lot of glitter! Thankfully my best friend is also on spring break and we can do it together, preferably while watching wedding shows on TLC.

Five.
Work Out!
I have two months until my dress fitting and I am determined to feel confident and happy with my body at that time. I don't have a ton to do but I definitely need to tone up and lose a few pounds. I should be able to work out every day of break, no excuses since I don't have work!

If you're a teacher, what are you doing this spring break? If not, what do you wish you could do?

Happy Friday! Linking up.

Wedding Wednesday: Accessories

I finally booked my hairstylist and I am having my hair trial next week. I am super excited to finally see my dreams come to life. I am planning on wearing a headband and a veil. My headband came last week and it was exactly what I wanted. It is so sparkly and perfect, everything that I wanted!

I want a veil but I can't seem to find one that I really like. I bought one off amazon but I thought that it looked too cheap so I returned it. I tried on this one at david's bridal but I couldn't decide if it was too much. I didn't really want to spend a ton of money on my veil but it's starting to look like I might have to.

My mom bought me some pearl teardrop earrings similar to this for Christmas and I might be wearing them for the wedding. With such a loud headband I feel like I can't have huge obnoxious earrings.

It's so hard to visualize it all and I think I really need to try it all on at the same time in order to see what it's going to be like. I'm excited it is finally coming together, 129 days! :)

Weekending: Relaxation

This weekend was wonderful. We didn't have many plans and I loved not being crazy busy.

Friday evening we red-boxed Divergent in order to refresh our memories before we go see the second one next weekend. I made dinner for my fiance and best friend and we had a movie night. Surprisingly we didn't all fall asleep which is what usually happens. I'd consider that a success! I also forgot how much I actually liked that movie and I'm really excited for Insurgent on Friday!

Saturday I cleaned up the apartment a little bit and worked on grad school. I finished a paper that I needed to write and turned that in. That afternoon we went to have dinner with my roommate and her new boyfriend. It was so much fun catching up with her and her new boyfriend is super nice. We went to the cheesecake factory, so good!

Sunday we went to church and I spent the afternoon reading. I started and finished a book this weekend. I am trying to read more for fun and

This week is going to be a busy one but next week is spring break! Five more days!

Update!

I've disappeared off of the blogging radar the past month and I wanted to do a little update on things that have been going on.

Wedding: Wedding planning is great! Things are coming together and I am as excited as ever. My spare room is exploding with things that I have been buying and it's pretty much all I want to talk about. The countdown is at 132 days! I will be sharing more on Wednesday and the Wednesday's following.

Grad School: I am working on my capstone! I will be walking at graduation on May 2nd which totally blows my mind. I might not be completed done with my paper by then but I should be getting close. I have to have it submitted by the middle of June. I can't believe I am actually going to have completed my Masters Degree in a year.

School: Teaching has been great! My kids are only driving my slightly crazy but thankfully we have spring break in a week. My FFA students have been working hard and we have our district competitions this week. After those we will be preparing for State Convention in May. Even when I am exhausted and swamped with life I am so thankful for such a rewarding and fun job.

Healthy Living: I have been failing miserably at eating healthy and working out. I can do so well for a month and then I totally fall off the wagon. I am going to start again (for real) either this weekend or next week when spring break starts, and I will be making myself work out daily. I'm down to 2 months before my dress fitting so there really isn't any time to mess around. I don't need to lose a ton of weight but since I'm going to hawaii for my honeymoon and planning on running around at my bachelorette party in a tutu, I want to be feeling good about myself.

That's pretty much it. I'll try to be more consistent with writing, but thanks for stopping by to catch up!

Wedding Wednesday: Update!

Hello, friends!

I've fallen off of the blogging earth for a while, sorry about that! It's a bummer because this month has had some really fun times but I also hit a slump. I'll write more about that later because it's Wednesday so that means...wedding!

I bought this headband last night and I am so excited for it to arrive.

I got these shoes from David's Bridal but they were too big, so I had to send them back. I went to the store and the size down was too big so I might be on a new hunt for shoes, but I want something similar.

I changed my mind on my bridesmaids dress. I was happy with the one we had but after looking at pictures I wasn't too sure about it anymore. I don't want to share the new one but I'm REALLY happy with it. I also was finally able to see the color in person (they had zero dresses in my color when we were trying them on in december) so that eased my anxiety. This isn't the dress but look how perfect it matches the groom's tie and the color I've been using for my centerpieces.

I am going flower girl dress shopping next weekend! I can't wait for some fun with my little princesses!
